A leading publicly-traded supplier of equipment for cosmetic procedures was seeking a way to increase the utilization of their novel, non-invasive procedure for treating scarring. They knew that a substantial number of potential patients existed in the US, Canada, & Europe who had not heard about the procedure and decided to couple clinical training with a direct to patient awareness campaign.
As the clinicians were trained, they began to seek qualified patients to justify their educational investment. Simultaneously, the direct-to-patient program increased awareness, and patients began requesting qualified, local physicians for treatment.
At the client’s request, Body1 deployed its Physician Finder System (PFS) across the digital direct-to-patient properties. Simultaneously a global database of all trained clinicians and their characteristics (location, languages, certifications, etc.) was uploaded to the PFS.
Within hours, the PFS was connecting qualified patients seeking scar treatment with trained clinicians. Some clinicians received over 1,000 patient leads/year each. Every month both clinicians and company management received reports on patient traffic, in granular detail, which helped further refine the marketing program.
The company’s scar treatment business grew an estimated 25% per year, led by 10%+ annual recruitment of clinicians for training. This success led to a product line expansion. The PFS-fueled success of this business became a major element in the firm’s subsequent acquisition by a larger competitor.
